Before ordering please read these answers to F.A.Q.’s

*  Photograph: Quite simply, the bigger, the better. Postcard size is a minimum, to achieve a well proportioned likeness. Ensure that details are clear and/or confirm in writing, eye/hair colour, etc. If you have a favourite, old, black and white photograph, we can quote to change  to colour, please email for details.

 * Pose: It is usually best to have the subject looking at a slight angle, rather than straight on. This will tend to give depth to the finished painting.

 * Background: Anything other than a plain background tends to detract from the subject, especially in smaller paintings. In view of this we normally supply, plain/toned background, unless requested otherwise. There is a 10 % extra charge for this.

 * Sizes: For Old Masters, we would suggest that for a more complex painting, to be hung in a large room, a larger size would be most suitable.

For Portraits, we suggest minimum sizes, ( inches ):-

Half Body

 * Frames: We do not supply paintings, ready framed. There are  several reasons for this:-

 1. It would substantially increase the cost of carriage and insurance, as well as the chances of damage in transit.

 2. Individual tastes differ, the dislike of a particular style of frame, may possibly affect ones view of the painting itself.

 3. Careful consideration should be given to the decor and location, where the painting will hang.

 With these points in mind, using a good, local framer, will give the choice and flexibility necessary, for a successful match between, picture, frame and location. We will gladly offer any advice we can.

*  Materials: We insist on only the very best quality oils and Belgian canvas are used to produce our paintings, all of which are totally, hand painted, by A Grade artists.

 * Likeness: The portrait you commission will be painted by a very highly trained artist, who will paint in a slightly different way to another of the same ability. This is the true beauty, of a well produced oil painting. It is not a facsimile of your photograph, but a vibrant, ‘living’ likeness, with texture and depth. Please be assured of your satisfaction, see our guarantee.

 * Guarantee: If you are not completely satisfied, return your painting to us within 14 days, for a full refund.

 * Shipping: Paintings, when completely dry, are securely packed in stout, cardboard tubes and dispatched, Royal Mail First Class Insured Post, F.O.C. to any Mainland U.K. address. Please add £5.00 to order total for all other destinations, towards extra postage & insurance.

*  Discounts : If you are happy with your painting, please recommend us to your friends and family. We will give a 15% discount on all subsequent orders. If your not happy, please tell us.
